Donate items by using Wolt app!

Kierrätyskeskus and Wolt are launching a collaboration to make it even easier to donate surplus household items and clothing in good condition, as well as small electronics in any condition, for reuse.

The delivery service is handled by Wolt couriers, who can transport both small and large packages. Each package can be up to the size of a moving box and weigh a maximum of 15 kilograms. The service will initially operate in the Helsinki area and, as the pilot progresses, expand to Espoo and Vantaa as well.

The donation pickup is ordered using the Wolt app, where you can also check the service area. The price for the pickup starts at €5.99, depending on the size of the package and the distance. The final price of the service is shown in the Wolt app at the time of ordering.

If you don’t yet have a Wolt account, you can download the app for free to your phone from Google Play or the App Store.

During the initial phase of the pilot, Wolt couriers will deliver all donations to the Kyläsaari Kierrätyskeskus in Helsinki. From there, the items are transported to the Kierrätyskeskus’ sorting facility in Nihtisilta and then distrubuted to its stores. Wolt donation pick-up is available Mon-Fri 9-20, Sat-Sun 10-17.

Instructions for ordering a donation pick-up

Gather the reusable items you want to donate to Kierrätyskeskus:

  • Small household items, e.g. tableware, decorative items, small appliances, kitchen ware and kitchen utensils.
  • Clothing and textiles, not necessary to be seasonal.
  • Sports, leisure and camping equipment.
  • Toys, games, discs and CD’s.
  • Small electronics and electrical appliances in any condition, the device does not have to be intact.

Packaging of donations

Pack your donations in a box or a reusable bag so that it is easy for the courier to carry them. Protect any fragile items from breaking.

Order a donation pick-up with the Wolt app

  • Donation pick-up is available Mon-Fri 9-20, Sat-Sun 10-17.
  • Open the Wolt app and select the Packages tab.
  • Enter your pick-up address, i.e. your location (e.g. home or work).
  • All donations will initially be taken to the Kierrätyskeskus Kyläsaari store. Enter the delivery address of the donation as: Kyläsaarenkatu 8, 00580 Helsinki.
  • The recipient of the donation:
    • Write down “donation pick-up” in the app’s delivery instructions for the courier, and whether the parcel is fragile.
    • Recipient: Kierrätyskeskus Kyläsaari
    • Recipient’s phone number: +358 400 348 195

Hand over your parcel to the courier

  • Take the parcel to the agreed location for the Wolt courier.
  • Tell the courier that it is a donation for Kierrätyskeskus.

Shipment tracking

  • You can track your donation with the Wolt app.
