How to become a loyalty member?

This is how it happens!

  1. Fill in the application form online. The form can also be filled in at the customer service desk of any Kierrätyskeskus store.
  2. You will receive a registration confirmation by email. Confirm your email address and accept the registration by clicking on the link in the message. Please note that it may take a while for the message to arrive or it may go straight to spam.
  3. Accept the terms and conditions of the loyalty programme and choose the type of card: a Cardu digital card or a plastic card.
  4. If you chose a digital card, download the Cardu app to your phone. For more information on Cardu and how to download it, click here.
  5. If you chose a plastic card, you can use it by picking up the card at any of the Pääkaupunkisudun Kierrätyskeskus stores. The card will be issued against your customer number – don’t forget to save it when you become a loyal customer!
  6. When you are picking up your card from a shop, make sure you also have your ID with you!

Cardu digital card or plastic card?

Both the Cardu digital card and the plastic card are free of charge, but if you lose the plastic card, we will charge you €5 to replace it.

Sign up as a loyalty customer using the online form and activate your student account at the store’s customer service desk the next time you visit the store. Bring with you a valid student certificate.

The student discount is granted if the student meets the following conditions:
– The student is 18 years old or older.
– You are studying full-time in Finland at a university, higher education institution, university of applied sciences, vocational school or upper secondary school for an undergraduate degree.
– Studies last for a continuous period of at least 8 months
– No daily allowance or salary for studying

No student discount is granted:
– For postgraduate students or graduates of universities and higher education institutions
– For apprentices
– For those in compulsory education
– For students studying at a community college
– For students studying abroad
– For evening and multi-study students, if less than 60% of the studies are taught face-to-face

How and where can I become a loyalty member customer?
You can become a loyalty member customer by filling in a membership form online, or at the customer service desk in any Kierrätyskeskus store.

I have a laminated loyalty member card, am I still a loyalty member?
Laminated loyalty cards ceased to work on 30.9.2019. Since then, loyalty membership has required a renewed loyalty card (plastic card or Cardu digital card) and acceptance of updated loyalty terms and conditions.

I am a city employee, can I still get a discount as before?
All discounts for different customer groups in Kierrätyskeskus are now bundled under one and the same loyalty member card. So become a loyalty member customer by filling in the form found on this page!

I used to get a discount with my pensioner card, can I still get it?
All discounts for different customer groups in Kierrätyskeskus are now bundled under one and the same loyalty member card, so you don’t need a separate pensioner card. So become a loyalty member customer by filling in the form found on this page!

I used to get a discount with a student card, can I still use that to get a discount?
All discounts for different customer groups in Kierrätyskeskus are now bundled under one and the same loyalty member card. The discount rate for full-time students will remain the same (20%), but you will need a loyalty member card. Join as a loyalty member customer online and activate your student discount at the customer service desk in any Kierrätyskeskus store. Bring with you a valid student certificate.

Can I combine a loyalty member discount with another discount in the store?
It is not possible to combine discounts, but the discounted product will always be sold at the highest discount.

I am not yet of age, can I become a loyalty member customer?
Unfortunately not, as our terms and conditions require you to be of legal age. However, you can become a loyalty member customer even on your 18th birthday!

I did not receive a confirmation message in my email
If you did not receive a confirmation email about your loyalty membership, please check your email spam folder. The sender of the message is Pääkaupunkiseudun Kierrätyskeskus. If you still can’t find the message, please send us an email: asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi

Where can I get my loyalty membership card?
The card can be picked up at any Kierrätyskeskus store. A loyalty membership card is issued in exchange for a customer number, which you will receive when you join. Remember to save your customer number!

I can’t pick up my card, can it be mailed to me?
Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to mail loyalty membership cards. Your details will be stored and you will receive your card the next time you visit the store. Please note that we will only issue the card in exchange for your customer number.

Problems with Cardu

I can’t find my Kierrätyskeskus card in the Cardu app, what should I do?
If you have registered as one of our loyal member customers using the form and selected Cardu as your card option, your card should automatically appear in your wallet in the Cardu app. If you can’t find the card, please contact customer support (asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi) so we can look for it together.

My Cardu app does not work

I chose Cardu, but I would still like a plastic card
We can change your digital card for a plastic one at store’s customer service desk. Please be prepared to prove your identity at customer service.

Can I block the ads sent by Cardu?
The notifications in the Cardu app are card-specific and can be turned off in the card settings as follows (Android and iPhone): open the desired card in your wallet and tap the round info icon (white “i”). Turn off the slider “Allow notifications from this card”.

You can also turn off app notifications in your phone’s settings (depending on the model) under Notifications -> App notifications.

I don’t have an email address, can I still become a loyalty member customer?
Our loyalty programme requires a working email address.

My information has changed, I would like to update it. What should I do?
Send your new contact details by email to asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi or update them at the customer service desk in the store. Please be prepared to prove your identity at customer service desk. You can update your email address via the link in the green bottom bar of the newsletter.

Terms of contract

Pääkaupunkiseudun Kierrätyskeskus’s (later Kierrätyskeskus) loyalty membership programme is a programme for responsible consumers, offering tips on sustainable living and encouraging people to reduce their consumption of natural resources.

We are constantly developing the loyalty membership programme – we want to make it not only inspiring to live an ecological lifestyle, but also appealing to our customers. If you have ideas and tips in mind that would be just right for Kierrätyskeskus loyalty members, send us email at: asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi!

New developments and features of the loyalty membership programme are communicated on the Kierrätyskeskus’s website, in newsletters and other customer communications.

Loyalty membership benefits:

Under the current terms and conditions of the loyalty membership programme, the discount is 10% / 20%. The terms of the contract may be amended.

10% discount on purchases made in Kierrätyskeskus stores. The loyalty member discount does not apply to online store products, shipping, flowers, gift cards, or workshop products such as refurbished electronics, household appliances, bicycles, sharpened skates or Plan B products. An exception to this is craft and handicraft supplies, for which the discount is granted. The loyalty member discount cannot be combined with other discounts.

Students with a valid student certificate receive a 20% discount with a loyalty member card. Students join as a loyal member customer via the online form, but the student discount must be activated at the store’s customer service.

Saving purchase data

Purchases made with a loyalty member card are registered by product category with the aim of improving the selection and marketing of stores. In addition, the customer will receive an indicative estimate of the natural resource savings of their purchases based on the accumulated purchase data.

Becoming a loyalty member customer

Anyone aged 18 or over living in Finland with a working email address can become a loyalty member customer.

You can join as a loyalty member customer on the Kierrätyskeskus website or at any Kierrätyskeskus store.

Membership is free of charge. Benefits can be used as soon as the loyalty member card is activated.

All information requested at the time of joining must be correct and up-to-date. If the information changes later, it can be updated at the Kierrätyskeskus’s stores or by sending an email to asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi. Student discount with a loyalty member card

Communication on the loyalty membership programme

Loyalty membership communication is an integral part of the Kierrätyskeskus’s loyalty membership programme. Communication related to loyalty membership is mainly done electronically. If you wish to opt-out from communications, you can do so by clicking on the link at the end of the newsletter.

Changes to the terms and termination of a loyalty membership agreement

Kierrätyskeskus has the right to change the terms and conditions of the loyalty membership agreement. We will endeavour to notify of any significant changes well in advance, at least one (1) month before the changes take effect. Minor changes may come into force without prior notice and will be notified on our website. The changes will also be communicated to our loyalty member customers.

You can terminate your loyalty membership by verbal notice in the store or by contacting our customer service: (asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi).

The loyalty member card will expire if it is not used in connection with a purchase for three years (36 months).
