Loyalty member benefits

After reading the terms and conditions, sign up as Kierrätyskeskus’ loyalty member using the online form! Loyalty members receive a weekly email newsletter, full of news and ideas on sustainable living. Choose between two membership cards – a plastic card or Cardu app – to get at least 10 % discount of your in-store purchases!

Membership form

Sign up as Kierrätyskeskus’ loyalty member using the form in the link. You can choose the type of card (plastic card or Cardu app) via the registration confirmation that will be sent to your email.

Remember to take note of your customer number (asiakasnumero)!

How to become a loyalty member?

Here’s how it happens!

  1. Fill in the membership form online. The online form is in Finnish. You can also join at the customer service desk at any Kierrätyskeskus store.
  2. You will receive a registration confirmation by email. Confirm your email address and accept the registration by clicking on the link in the message. Please note that it may take a while for the message to arrive or it may dive straight in to your spam folder.
  3. Accept the terms and conditions of the loyalty programme and choose your card type: Cardu app or a plastic card.
  4. If you choose Cardu, download the Cardu app from your smart phone’s app store and sign/log in with the same information you gave us while joining the loyalty programme. For more information on Cardu and how to download it, click here.
  5. If you choose a plastic card, you can pick it up at any of the Pääkaupunkiseudun Kierrätyskeskus stores. The card will be issued against your customer number (asiakasnumero) – don’t forget to save it when you finish your loyalty member registration!
  6. When you pick up your loyalty card, make sure to bring with a valid ID!

Cardu app or plastic card?

Both the Cardu digi card and the plastic card are free of charge, but if you lose the plastic card, we will charge you 5 € for a new one.

Information for students

Student members get 20 % off their in-store purchases

Sign up as a loyalty member by using the online form and activate your student status at the store’s customer service desk. Bring a valid student certificate with you.

The student discount is granted if the student meets the following conditions:
– The student is 18 years old or older.
– You are studying full-time in Finland at a university, higher education institution, university of applied sciences, vocational school or upper secondary school for an undergraduate degree.
– Your studies last at least 8 consecutive months
– You receive no daily allowance or salary for your studies

No student discount is granted:
– For postgraduate students or graduates of universities and higher education institutions
– For apprentices
– For those in compulsory education
– For students studying at a community college
– For students studying abroad
– For evening and multi-study students, if less than 60 % of their studies are taught face-to-face

How and where can I become a loyalty member?
You can become a loyalty member by filling in a membership form online, or at the customer service desk at any Kierrätyskeskus store.

I have a laminated loyalty member card, am I still a loyalty member?
Laminated loyalty cards ceased to work on 30.9.2019. Since then, loyalty membership has required a renewed loyalty card (plastic card or Cardu digital card) and acceptance of updated loyalty terms and conditions.

I am a city employee, can I still get a discount as before?
All discounts for different customer groups in Kierrätyskeskus are now bundled under one loyalty member card. So become a loyalty member by filling in the form found on this page!

I used to get a discount with my pensioner card, can I still get it?
All discounts for different customer groups in Kierrätyskeskus are now bundled under one loyalty member card, so you don’t need a separate pensioner card. Become a loyalty member by filling in the form found on this page!

I used to get a discount with a student card, can I still use that to get a discount?
All discounts for different customer groups in Kierrätyskeskus are now bundled under one loyalty member card. The discount rate for full-time students has not changed (20 %), but you will need a loyalty member card. Join online and activate your student discount at the customer service desk in any Kierrätyskeskus store. Bring a valid student certificate with you.

Can I combine a loyalty member discount with another discount in the store?
It is not possible to combine discounts, but the discounted product will always be sold at the highest discount.

I am under 18, can I become a loyalty member?
Unfortunately not, as our terms and conditions require you to be of legal age. However, you are welcome to join our loyalty programme on your 18th birthday!

I did not receive a confirmation message in my email
If you did not receive a confirmation email about your loyalty membership, please check your email spam folder. The sender of the message is Pääkaupunkiseudun Kierrätyskeskus. If you still can’t find the message, please send us an email: asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi

Where can I get my loyalty card?
Once you’ve joined the programme, you can pick up your card at any Kierrätyskeskus store. A loyalty card is issued in exchange for your customer number, which you have received while joining. Remember to save your customer number!

I can’t pick up my card, can it be mailed to me?
Unfortunately no. You do not need to pick up your card immediately, as your membership details are stored and you can ask for your card the next time you visit the store – whether it has been two weeks or a year. Please note that you need your customer number in order to receive your card.

Problems with Cardu

I can’t find my Kierrätyskeskus card in the Cardu app, what should I do?
If you have registered as one of our loyal member customers using the form and selected Cardu as your card option, your card should automatically appear in your wallet in the Cardu app.

My Cardu app does not work

I chose Cardu, but I would still like a plastic card
We can change your digital card for a plastic one at store’s customer service desk. Please be prepared to prove your identity at customer service.

Can I block the ads sent by Cardu?
The notifications in the Cardu app are card-specific and can be turned off in the card settings.

You can also turn off app notifications in your phone’s settings (depending on the model) under Notifications -> App notifications.

What information does Kierrätyskeskus share with Cardu and how does Cardu use it?

I don’t have an email address, can I still become a loyalty member customer?
Our loyalty programme requires a functioning email address.

My information has changed, I would like to update it. What should I do?
Send your new contact details by email to asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi or update them at the customer service desk in the store. Please be prepared to prove your identity at customer service desk. You can update your email address via the link found at the bottom of the newsletter.

Terms and conditions

Pääkaupunkiseudun Kierrätyskeskus’ (later Kierrätyskeskus) loyalty membership programme is a programme for environmentally savvy consumers, offering tips on sustainable living and encouraging people to reduce their consumption of natural resources.

We are constantly developing the loyalty membership programme – we want to make eco-friendly lifestyle not only inspiring, but also appealing to our customers. New developments and features of the loyalty membership programme are communicated on the Kierrätyskeskus’s website, in newsletters and other customer communications.

Loyalty membership benefits:

Under the current terms and conditions of the loyalty membership programme, the discount is 10 % / 20 %. The terms of the contract may be amended.

10 % discount on purchases made at Kierrätyskeskus stores. The loyalty member discount does not apply to online store items, shipping, flowers, gift cards, or workshop products such as serviced electronics, household appliances, bicycles, sharpened skates or Plan B products. An exception to this are The Most Wanted line of products, as well as handicraft supplies, for which the loyalty discount will be granted. The loyalty member discount cannot be combined with other discounts.

Students with a valid student certificate receive a 20 % discount with their Kierrätyskeskus loyalty card. Their student status must be activated at any Kierrätyskeskus store’s customer service.

Saving purchase data

Purchases made with a loyalty card are registered by product category with the aim of improving the selection and marketing of stores. In addition, the customer will receive an indicative estimate of the natural resource savings of their purchases based on the accumulated purchase data.

Becoming a loyalty member

Anyone aged 18 or over living in Finland with a functioning email address can become a loyalty member.

You can become a loyalty member on the Kierrätyskeskus website or at any Kierrätyskeskus store.

Loyalty membership is free of charge. Benefits can be used as soon as the loyalty member card is activated.

All information requested at the time of joining must be correct and up-to-date. Any changes to your name, email, address or phone can be done at any Kierrätyskeskus store or by sending an email to asiakastuki@kierratyskeskus.fi. The personal data of a loyalty member customers are stored in Kierrätyskeskus’s loyalty member register. Please click on the link to read the Kierrätyskeskus Privacy Policy.

Student discount with a loyalty member card

The student discount is granted if the student meets the following conditions:
– The student is 18 years old or older.

Communication on the loyalty membership programme

Loyalty membership marketing is an integral part of the Kierrätyskeskus’s loyalty programme. Marketing related to loyalty membership is mainly done online. If you wish to opt-out from marketing, you can do so by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter.

Changes to the terms and termination of a loyalty membership agreement

Kierrätyskeskus has the right to change the terms and conditions of the loyalty membership agreement. We will endeavour to notify of any significant changes well in advance, at least one (1) month before the changes take effect. Minor changes may come into force without prior notice and will be announced on our website. The changes will also be communicated to our loyalty member customers.

The loyalty member card will expire if it is not used in connection with a purchase for three years (36 months).
